Det danske tangoorkester Cada Vez Más præsenterer deres nye CD "Nostalgias" ved 2 koncerter på den stemningsfulde argentinske vinbar Tango y Vinos i København.

Cada Vez Más er den eneste gruppe af sin slags i landet: en sangerinde bliver akkompagneret af 3 guitarister, og derved ledes tankerne straks hen på den traditionelle tango, som den lød i Buenos Aires i starten af 1900-tallet.

Især den legendariske sanger og skuespiller Carlos Gardel gjorde denne genre til hvermandseje, og i disse sange oplever man for alvor den smerte og passion, der skaber tangomusikkens særlige magi.

The Danish tango orchestra Cada Vez Más are presenting their new Cd "Nostalgias" at 3 concerts at the Argentine wine bar Tango y Vinos in Copenhagen

Cada Vez Más is the only group of its kind in Denmark: a singer is accompanied by 3 guitarists and thereby a connection to the traditional tango, as it was played in the beginning of the 20th century, is made.

Especially the legendary singer and actor Carlos Gardel lifted this genre into the hearts of the Argentine population, and in these songs one can truly feel the grief and passion that is the key to the special magic of tango music.

Cada Vez Más - every time a little more.

CVM is the only tangoorchestra in Denmark, that picks up the concept of the traditional tango-performers (most of all the legendary Carlos Gardel): a singer and 3 guitars.

The group began their collaboration at The Carl Nielsen Academy of Music 7 years ago, and soon found a way to combine their classical musicianship with the proud tradition of the tango.

The beloved tango songs are treated with respect, but still CVM adds their own trademarks and ideas to this fantastic music.

Even songs by Piazzolla and European composers are part of CVM's repertoire.

PYLKKANEN / EZEQUIEL QUARTET

Finnish saxophone player Pekka Pylkkanen and Brazilian drummer Carlos Ezequiel joined forces and put together a new quartet, to present original compositions in a unique blend of contemporary jazz references.

From Helsinki, Finland, Pekka Pylkkanen is one of Scandinavia's most active jazz musicians. Leading his group Tube Factory or playing with big bands such as the UMO Jazz Orchestra, has toured all over the world since the 1990's, performing in China, Japan, Korea, Australia, USA, Norway, Germany, Sweden, Chile, Uruguay, Bolivia, Peru, Argentina, and Brazil. Pekka has been featured in over 300 concerts in the last few years, and released 3 CDs as a leader: "Pekka's Tube Factory" (1999), "Opaque" (2001), and "Listen!" (2008).

Carlos Ezequiel, Brazilian jazz drummer and producer, has performed in the U.S.A., Europe, Argentina, Peru, and all over Brazil. His first Cd, "Images", recorded in Boston in 2000, was nominated for the Latin Grammy 2002 as "Best Latin Jazz Album". With his group Sinequanon, has released 3 more albums: "Sinequanon" (2004), "Telescópio" (2006) and "Horizonte Artificial" (2008). As a sideman he has performed with American artists Kurt Rosenwinkel, Howard Levy and David Liebman, with Danish musicians Thomas Walbum and Jens Viggo Fjord, and with numerous Brazilian artists such as legendary bass player Sizão Machado and guitar player Nelson Faria.

Pekka and Carlos are joined by two of the most in-demand jazz musicians in Europe: Italy-based pianist Greg Burk and Irish renowned bass player Ronan Guilfoyle. Their Scandinavian Tour 2010 includes concerts in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
