Brasilian Tunes with Bossa Royal-Simon Thorsen & Lars Delamotte

Up to some bossa nova standards with very tasteful arrangements? This will be your lucky night, and by the way, very tastefull as well.

A bit about the guys

Lars De Lamotte a.k.a. Nelson De Lamotte is a dutch/indonesian/danish singer/songwriter and vocal coach who has been specializing in brazilian music since his early teens. He has released 7 albums, of which 4 are his own. Lars was born in Amsterdam and spent his early childhood in Tokyo. In the early sixties he and his family settled in Denmark. Lars played the violin from the age of 9, then switched to guitar when he was 13. He started picking up words and chords by ear, while listening to Jobim tunes, played by João Gilberto. He has also been very influenced by the works of Milton Nascimento, Sergio Mendes, Hermeto Pascoal and Gilberto Gil. In 1980 he released an album with danish latin/funk group, Zambassa on Polygram.

He then received his formal training at The Royal Danish Music Conservatory. He's been working with many great danish and brazilian musicians through the years. In 1998 he started playing in and composing for the group New Bossa 5, and their album Berlingo de Branco, came out on Olufsen Records.

In 2000 he released a duo-album called Brazilian Summer Moods with the group Bossa & You, also on Olufsen, and later that year he received The Global Beat Award (Danish National Radio, P3) for the album Nelson. In 2002, Lars ended working with New Bossa 5, and later that year he formed his new band Brazilian Boots . In 2006 Lars and Brazilian Boots released their debut album "Dive" on Calibrated records, which received four hearts by danish jazz-critic, Boris Rabinowitch.

Simon Thorsen
A living legend. Great sax player with an unique personnel touch. Any body who knows just a bit of Jazz would know this great talented gent. And he certainly loves what he does, same way as i do on my wines.
